We are recruiting for 2 vacant posts of Welfare and Financial Assessment Officers and are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team.
Job requirements:
- Experience of providing a high level of customer service in writing, face to face and by phone
- Ability to manage priorities and organise own workload to meet deadlines as well as those of the wider team
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience of working with vulnerable customers
- Awareness of Welfare Benefits, working knowledge of Housing Benefit and Universal credit would be advantageous but not essential
Duties:
- Assess claims for Discretionary Housing Payments and Council Tax Discretionary Reduction payments
- Use discretion to identify vulnerable customers who may be suffering extreme financial hardship or other specific issues and signpost to partner agencies where further support is required.
- Provide advice and support to vulnerable customers who are relocated or resettled due to war or other refugee programmes.
- Participate in proactive initiatives, project and development work as required, including take-up and advice campaigns and job fairs.
