LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT GRADE 2

32.5 HOURS PER WEEK, TERM TIME ONLY (9.15am – 4.15pm)

START DATE: SEPTEMBER 2022

SALARY:  SCALE 2 SCP 5-6 £15,774 – 16,069 PER ANNUM

Chadsgrove Educational Trust Specialist College is a 19-25 provision for students aged 19-25 whose special educational needs arise from their physical disabilities and/or complex medical needs.  In addition there may be some who have profound and multiple learning difficulties, whilst others have sensory impairments and/or communication difficulties.

We currently have 12 students on roll and there are 6 Learning Support Assistants (LSA).  The roles of the LSAs are varied but consist of supporting teaching activities and assisting with the changing and personal care requirements of some of our students.  The work can often involve manual handling of students and candidates need to be physically fit and capable of working co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team. It is essential that candidates are ambitious for our learners, adaptable with a good sense of humour and have an ability to empathise and work positively with the students’ individual needs.

Previous experience of working with adults with a physical disability would be an advantage but it is not essential, as training will be given.
