Job Details
The current Market Hall first opened its doors in 1883 and is built in the same location as the original fifteenth century hall. Since then, the Market Hall has become an integral part of Burton’s culture and is still trading to this day.
Following a £1.5M refurbishment in 2014, Burton Indoor Market Hall reopened in July 2014 and now plays host to a wide array of vibrant stalls and events.
The Market Hall offers a range of both permanent, pop-up and outdoor stalls to suit businesses of all shapes and sizes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to work in our small markets team.

You must have an effective telephone manner being able to deal with face to face, email and telephone queries. Experience in administrative environment is essential and you must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office systems.
You will be required to ensure the security of the market buildings and other property, including being a key holder, responding to alarm call outs and alarm setting for Market Hall.
We are looking for a motivated and flexible person with a willingness to learn and take on new areas in our small Markets team.
You will be creative, have excellent computer and numeracy skills and be confident in communicating with staff across all levels of the organisation as well as with market traders, customers, local businesses and relevant associations.
You will need the ability to make difficult decisions and act as a supervisor as and when required.
You will have previous experience of carrying out administrative duties and of working with Microsoft systems, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
You must have 3 GCSEs including English and Mathematics or equivalent.
The hours of work are an average of 34 per week over a two week shift pattern, Monday to Saturday. Full details of the shift pattern are included in the job description.
The role is offered as a fixed term contract up to 31st May 2023.
