We have the following vacancies in our Family Front Door and Locality areas of the service:

Initial Safeguarding - Assessment Teams

The Initial Safeguarding Team carry out assessments under s17 and s47 CA1989 when a new referral is made into Childrens Social Care. This team also undertake some court work on newly allocated cases where immediate action is required to safeguard a child.  This Team progress case work to ICPC or first hearing.

There are also part time opportunities within Initial Safeguarding available, starting at 18.5hrs per week.

Locality Safeguarding Teams

The Locality Safeguarding teams are patch based, they are responsible for implementing complex child in need planning, child protection plans, private and public court proceedings. The focus of the work is supporting families to care for their children safely. The service is well supported with access to specialist family support services and a multi-disciplinary team working with families who are affected by substance use, mental health difficulties and domestic violence. The teams support looked after children until their care plans are finalised.

Through Care – Looked After Children Team

The Through Care Service supports children and young people who have permanent plans to remain with the care system, we also support all of the UASC young children within the service.    Your work will be supporting young people to ensure that they have the correct care plan and this is progressed in a timely way.  We take cases where a final Care Order is made and support young people up until the age of 18.

You will be supported by and working with a stable management group in teams where the culture of ‘team’ being a supportive learning environment is embedded with regular supervision, manageable caseloads and regular team meetings as well as a comprehensive training offer in partnership with the social work academy.
