This is an exciting time to join the service as our newly created role of Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Officer evolves. This new role is an amalgamation of the Conference Chair and the Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO). Stoke work's using a Restorative model with families and professionals and you will be an important part of ensuring that this becomes embedded in practice across the service as part of your Quality Assurance function. You will need to ensure that you have a good understanding of the IRO Handbook and working together to ensure that the Statutory requirements for both Safeguarding and children who are cared for by Stoke are adhered to. You will need to have the ability to have restorative conversations with others to ensure that issues are addressed appropriately and proportionally to ensure the right outcomes for children.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all ouremployees and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
