The Violence Reduction Partnership is an alliance of organisations working together to reduce the types of violence that affect children and young people within the West Midlands.

We are seeking a Head of Programme Management to join the multi-agency team which is hosted by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

You will be leading and working alongside people from a wide range of disciplines, organisations and backgrounds, and be responsible for supporting individuals and organisations across the violence reduction system to work together effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, innovative and engaging individual with a background in programme management and a passion for preventing violence and supporting young people in the region to thrive.

You will lead a team of specialists responsible for delivering on the national priorities for violence reduction: improving evaluation, data development and analysis, strengthening data-sharing and promoting a public health approach.

You’ll also be leading the VRPs programme management capacity, monitoring and reporting progress across a number of strands of work, identifying risks and overseeing our partnership governance structures and commissioning processes.

You will nurture key relationships at a senior level across a wide range of organisations in order to strengthen the partnership. A key part of the role will be supporting integration between programmes of delivery, transformation programmes, and strategies being led by different partners.

You’ll be comfortable supporting VRP project managers to deliver effectively across the lifecycle of multi-year funded programmes, and will work within a senior leadership team to help attract and secure sustainable investment in the region.

You’ll be briefing and supporting the VRP Director in local, regional, and national conversations around key areas of violence reduction policy, researching emerging practice and keeping abreast of developments across the national VRP network and helping to deliver on the VRP’s national portfolios.

You will provide inspirational and strategic leadership and direction to senior managers working within the VRP and will support leaders across the organisations within the partnership.

You will be committed to reducing inequality across the region, be comfortable delivering in line with a public health approach and be a champion of equality, diversity and inclusion within the organisation.

You will be expected to coach, develop capability and drive performance in line with objectives, vision and values. We are therefore seeking someone with previous experience of operating at senior leadership level in a complex organisation.

You will have a demonstrable track record of organisational effectiveness, performance and continuous improvement. You will have experience in maximising funding sources and identifying funding opportunities, whilst managing large budgets, tracking progress, identifying risk and opportunities.

The West Midlands region is a vibrant and diverse part of the country. The Police and Crime Commissioner is committed to equality and diversity and welcomes applications from individuals of all backgrounds. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of diversity and human rights, and a personal commitment to promoting diversity and racial equality.
