Job Details

East Staffordshire Borough Council serves a population of approximately 110,000 and is a mix of urban and rural areas. The principal town of Burton upon Trent is known for its brewing heritage and the smaller settlement of Uttoxeter is a market town. The rural areas are varied and characterised by small hamlets and villages, often historic in origin and containing substantial conservation areas.
The role is to carry out a range of administrative tasks required to ensure the delivery of an excellent support service to all customers.
The Borough Council has a small, but very effective Development Control Team which handles a wide variety of applications ranging from major residential and commercial proposals to householder, agricultural and other applications.

The role provides the opportunity to experience the varied nature of applications which are reflective of the character of the Borough.

Responsible for supporting the Development Control functions relating to all proposals you will assist in the delivery of high quality Development Control Services and support our customers.

Excellent time management skills are essential. You’ll have experience of a range of administration tasks including working with databases and systems.
We are looking for applicants who have experience of working in an office based administration role, liaising with external partners and customers.
You must be computer literate and be able to work in an organised and efficient manner as part of a team focused on targets and performance.
