Location: All four Penk Valley Academy Trust First Schools (in-person meetings),
flexible working for other tasks

Hours of work: Late afternoon / early evening termly meetings,
alongside flexible hours to meet deadlines and business need

Contract:132 hours per year, annualised into 12 monthly payments,
fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance

Commencing:  September 2022

Remuneration: Grade 7, actual annual salary of c. £1,800

We are excited to be appointing a clerk to the Local Governing Committees of all four First Schools in Penk Valley Academy Trust:

  • Marshbrook First School,Penkridge
  • Princefield First School,Penkridge
  • St Mary & St Chad CE First School, Brewood
  • St John’s CE First School, Bishops Wood

The role of clerk to governors is a vibrant, challenging, and insightful one which, for the right candidate, can open the door to new opportunities in education management.

The successful candidate will become a member of the clerking team at Penk Valley Academy Trust comprising the Office Managers at Wolgarston High School, The Rural Enterprise Academy, and Penkridge Middle School, and the Director of Governance and Communications. The team meets termly, and a full programme of development and training will be given. Ongoing support and line-management will be provided by the Director of Governance and Communications, alongside an individualised induction and training programme.

  • Confidence to query incorrect procedure
  • A willingness to gain knowledge of school development, curriculum, and policy – training will be given
