An experienced and qualified electrical maintenance engineer is required within the Projects and Works Service, part of the City Assets Directorate within the City of Wolverhampton Council.

The engineer will be required to fulfil a variety of  engineering roles on the buildings within the portfolio of the City of Wolverhampton Council. Properties may be Schools, Offices, Commercial buildings, housing and other public structures, land and buildings. various corporate and School buildings in and around the Wolverhampton Area

Duties include: -

  • Supervising electrical testing, qualified to be able to do some testing works themselves.
  • To be involved in the monitoring the electrical testing programme, and implement rectification works, when any issue of a positive result or risk is identified, through the existing City Council’s recording and monitoring system.
  • Cost advice to bring up to standard
  • Future planned maintenance costs over a chosen period
  • Data provided for existing property/facilities management systems and data inputting.
  • Preparing condition surveys that are nationally recognised 

Key Skills:

  • Strong Electrical background – JIB graded Approved Electrician or equivalent engineering graded equivalent.
  • Experience such as project management or senior engineer roles (Desirable)
  • Qualified Supervisor experience with a recognised electrical contractor

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: -

  • JIB Approved Electrician
  • Test & Inspection – 2391 Qualification post education experience or NVQ, Level 4, or equivalent experience by demonstration of ability in building services.
  • Ability to use MS office i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
  • Experience in 3 or more of the following areas:
    • Industrial Buildings
    • Facilities Management
    • Food and Beverage
    • Leisure Buildings
    • Construction
