Job Details

We are looking for an Asset Development Manager who will lead on the development and continuous improvement of asset strategies, contract specifications and maintenance requirements.

Not only will you be involved in the development of asset management systems but you will also be responsible for ensuring processes, systems and activities are fit for purpose and meet the specified requirements. Working closely with the operational team, you will make sure that everything that is being developed will work, when it goes into practice. 

This is a brand new opportunity which would suit someone who is looking for a varied role and has a creative approach to problem solving. You will have the autonomy to take an asset base and shape this as you like. You will implement new systems and processes and make a real difference within the Transport for West Midlands team.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensure that the organisation is working in line with ISO55000
  • Reduce any risk and waste to operational assets
  • Develop long-term asset management plans, programmes and strategies
  • Produce accurate reports, business plans and briefings which summarise complex financial and development issues
  • Assist with the development of revenue and capital budget submissions
  • Assist with the valuation of asset risks, taking into account statutory legislation, best practice, condition, performance, failure, capacity and demand
  • Be responsible for Health and Safety and Development

About you

It is essential that you have experience within asset management and working within the principles of ISO55000.

You will be used to developing and implementing systems and understand risk management techniques within asset management. Consulting, negotiating and experience of delivering business change is a must!

It would be highly beneficial if you have experience of the implementation and principles of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and are able to draft documentation to a high standard.

Ideally you will be a strong influencer and be able to communicate across all levels. Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams would be advantageous and a background of working with or within public authorities would be desirable.
