Communication Support Worker HI (2 posts)

 

Salary: £23,953 - £27,514 (pro rata for the part time post)

 

2 posts:

 

  • Full time - 32.5 hours per week, term time only (Cheadle, Staffordshire)
  • Part time – 13 hours per week, term time only (Newcastle under Lyme)

 

Job Share would be considered for the full time post.

 

Two Communication Support Workers for the Hearing Impaired are required within the Hearing Impairment Team to start on 05/09/2022.  The people appointed will be part of the Specialist Support Service and will be supporting deaf pupils within the County (one in Cheadle, Staffordshire and one in Newcastle under Lyme).  A recognised qualification in British Sign Language at level 2 and an understanding of the needs of a hearing impaired pupil is essential.  As a member of the above Service, you may be required to work elsewhere at the discretion of the Head of Service.

 

 

Our large centrally based Team consists of Specialist Teachers, Communication Support Workers, Deaf Role Models, and an ICT Support Technician.  We support children and young people 0-25 with a sensory loss in a variety of settings including homes, nurseries, mainstream schools, colleges, and specialist provision.  We maintain a strong commitment to multi-agency working, inclusive education, high standards of attainment, and quality of life experiences for all our pupils.
