Newly Qualified Social Worker Opportunities

We have Newly Qualified Social Worker vacancies across the different children’s social work teams here in Worcestershire. The vacancies are across our Locality (Child Protection and Care Proceedings) and Through Care (Children Looked After) children’s social work teams and these will be discussed with you at interview to identify your preference and best match for your skills and experiences and in conjunction as to where the vacancies are.

Starting Salary £27,514 rising to £29,174 plus a one-off up to £3,000 Welcome Payment on completion of ASYE year and entry into our annual retention payment of £3,000*

37 hours per week

Our leadership team is committed and passionate about developing excellent practice and ensuring that our Newly Qualified Social Workers receive the best support that they can offer including:

  • Protected caseload of a maximum of 12
  • A designated Advanced Social Work Practitioner who will co-work cases with you as well as give individual reflective supervision sessions.
  • Protected development time – 10% of your week is given over to protected development time, as well as half day learning sessions.
