Job Details

Operating within the Directorate of Housing & Community Services, Housing Services is the landlord for the Council’s social housing stock and offers a range of services to tenants and leaseholders. The Housing Maintenance Team, comprising an in-house workforce working alongside external contractors, oversee the delivery of numerous construction, compliance, term maintenance, services and supply contracts.

The postholder will assist Surveyors in the day to day provision of a quantity surveying service in the Housing Maintenance Team, in relation to construction, compliance, term maintenance, services and supply contracts – in a manner which accords with accepted professional practices and standards.

The postholder will work in conjunction with other team members to provide effective financial and contractual control on all contracts allocated; predominantly undertaking post contract surveying duties. There is a strong emphasis on site based remeasurement and the final financial settlement of works orders issued on a JCT Measured Term Contract operating in a repairs and maintenance environment.

Applications will be welcomed from graduates with limited work-related experience who have attained a level 5 BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and are now seeking career opportunities within the construction industry.
