We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated engineer, to work within the Projects and Works Service, part of the City Assets Directorate within the City of Wolverhampton Council. The engineer will be required to fulfil a variety of compliance roles at various corporate and school buildings in and around the Wolverhampton area.

This role would ideally suit an enthusiastic mechanical/plumbing based engineer/installer who has a really good understanding of water hygiene and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft outlook and excel.

If you are a time served engineer looking to progress your career into the local authority facilities maintenance, then this is the ideal opportunity to for you to take that step from onsite installation work to a predominately office based contract management team.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the team to ensure Council buildings comply with ACOP L8 and HSG-274
  • Monitoring the Councils Legionella online report tracker and organising the remedial work
  • Supporting the team in arranging and monitoring Legionella risk assessments, TMV services, disinfections, Legionella samples, etc.
  • Completing site visits and provide technical expertise and support
  • Arranging repair costs to gain compliance
  • Extensive knowledge of complex commercial and domestic water systems
  • Ability to work unsupervised but part of a team

 

  • Good interpersonal skills, team orientated and ambitious personality
  • Great ability in MS office: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Mechanical/plumbing qualifications level 3 NVQ or equivalent by demonstration of ability in building services
  • Experience in water hygiene industry
  • Good interpersonal skills, team orientated and ambitious personality
  • Great ability in MS office: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc
  • Full driving licence
