Family Support Worker

37 hours term time only plus 5 training days

Fixed Term contract for 12 months in the first instance ending 31/08/2023

Scale 6 (scp 18 – 22), £21,740.88 - £23,532.73 per annum

The Governors of Bewdley Primary School wish to appoint an experienced Family Support Worker to support and guide our children and families in well-being and mental health on a day to day basis.

The ideal candidate will be able to act as the strategic link between the school and outside agencies/partners and work to provide families with early help and emotional well-being.

You will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and relevant partners to provide a holistic support service designed at enhancing the wellbeing of some of school community. You will need to be able to identify pupils who require support and use your specialist knowledge and skills to foster the social and emotional development of the children. You will also need to lead planned interventions and evaluate outcomes.

You should be able to implement the signs of safety approach into your work, as well as being able to deliver a trauma informed approach.

You will need to be innovative, reliable, caring yet assertive with excellent communication skills. You must have relevant experience of working with parents and families as well as children with different needs and experience of working in a school or educational setting.

You will have a minimal qualification equivalent of NVQ level 4 with a GCSE in Maths and English (C or above).
