Salary: £29,174 - £33,486 per annum (which includes 2SCP for unsociable hours) plus sleep in allowance per night.
Location: The Firs, Stafford
Contract & Working pattern: Permanent | Full time | 1 x 37 hours per week
About The Firs
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work in a brand new Children’s Home provision in Stafford. The Firs is a small residential home which will provide medium to long term residential support for up to 3 young people aged 11 – 18 years old. It will be a family centred environment that supports, nurtures and cares for young people giving them opportunities to learn, progress and explore new activities and ventures. This is an exciting opportunity for right person to join a new team to deliver a high-quality service.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a proven track record of effective support and management practice working with children and young people. You’ll need to work on your own initiative, manage a team of staff and can deal with demanding and challenging situations. Plus, you’ll also be a great communicator both face to face and with written communications.
What you’ll bring
You must have:
- A minimum of NVQ or QCF level 3 in Caring for Young People
Ideally it would be great if you have an NVQ/QCF Level 4 or above in Management or that you would be committed to doing this qualification with us once in post.
Please note on occasion in residential care there is a need to only accept applicants from a particular protected characteristic. As per the exceptions under the Equality Act 2010 there is an occupational requirement for this role to be fulfilled by someone aged 22 years or over. The reason being that we are legally required to ensure that anyone appointed is at least 4 years older than our oldest resident.
