Provider Improvement Officer

Salary:  £27.041 - £31,346 per annum

37 Hours per week – 12 months fixed term / internal secondment

About the role

The Provider Improvement Response Team forms part of the wider quality assurance function in health and social care. This will be a crucial role in driving improvements in the quality of the adult care market.

This is a joint health and social care team with both nurses and local authority officers. The key focus of this team will be to work with the highest risks in the care market including services at risk of closure, those in large scale enquiry or those subject to CQC enforcement action. You will feed into the overall assessment of risk for a care service and be instrumental in ensuring the provider delivers the required improvements.

Although the team’s focus will be to prevent closures of care services, in circumstances where there is risk of an urgent closure this team will have a lead role. There is an expectation that in circumstances of closure or where there are significant safeguarding risks there may be a requirement to work evenings or weekends, however, the normal working pattern will be Monday – Friday. The position will have a combination of on-site visits at care services and office work, which will require travel across the County.

Specific deliverables include

Prevention of urgent closures in Staffordshire Support providers to deliver withdrawal of CQC enforcement action, particularly those with closure notices Reduction in suspended services or those in large scale enquiry Reduction in services rated as ‘inadequate’ or ‘requires improvement’ Contribute towards the improvement of pathways between registered services and lead professionals / specialist teams
