St. Francis’ Catholic Primary is a two-form entry, successful, multi-cultural school in the heart of Birmingham, with a proven track record of helping children overcome barriers to learning and offering both academic strength and pastoral care which makes a difference to the lives of our children and families.

We are looking for someone with a good level of spoken English, and successful experience of working in an office environment - preferably in a school office. The successful candidate will have the skills to interact positively with parents and visitors to the school.

The day to day role includes:

• raising orders and processing invoices using the school’s information management system

• arranging payments through the City Council via Oracle

• matching invoices to reconciliation files

• setting up new employees on SIMS and Oracle

• working with Schools’ Financial Services to prepare an annual budget for the Governing Body, carry out financial benchmarking and prepare three and four-year forecasts

The Finance Officer will be supported by Schools’ Financial Services, who will provide a fortnightly visit to the school - Governors will review the level of this support as the successful candidate becomes more confident in the role.

The successful applicant will be a practising Catholic, or sympathetic to and supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.
