Are you a 1st4sport Level 2 Award Instructor in Cycle Training?

We are looking for qualified Cycling Instructors to join our Cycle Training Team focusing on supporting our growing non-school delivery programme. Perhaps you are a private instructor or looking for additional hours to complement another role in a neighbouring authority.

Offered on a casual contract basis with Solihull Council, this role will allow you to pursue your love of cycling whilst working flexibly around other commitments The growth of interest in cycling in our borough and the funding to support has led to high demand for adult and family training as well as all levels of Bikeability training outside our traditional school offering. We are looking for new recruits to join our established team and deliver training in a fun and inspiring way.

Our team of Cycling Instructors promote cycling practice to the National Standards Level set out by The Department for Transport for both children and adults, giving them the confidence to ride individually or in a group and gain an understanding of how to ride safely on today’s roads. 

Training courses are usually offered in sessions of 1 hour and will be booked back-to-back with planned breaks for instructors. Family sessions will last longer due to delivery guidelines.

The role will appeal to individuals who are already accredited with Level 2 Award in Instructor Cycle Training and enjoy working with people of all ages and cycling ability.  You must be physically able to walk and cycle distances of up to two miles on a frequent basis and deliver training sessions that may last for 90 minutes.

The work you do will be highly valued and successful candidates will have the opportunity to complete further training to support their development.
