Early Years Teacher and possible aspiring leader to lead on the EYFS phase


The headteacher and governors of St. John’s CE (A) Primary School are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Early Years teacher for our Reception class from September 2022 (or as soon as possible after, depending on notice periods).  For an aspiring leader, there may be an opportunity to lead on the EYFS phase which can be discussed at visits.

We are looking for an experienced and engaging teacher to inspire our children at the start of their school journey.  We believe all of our staff at St. John’s are important but we see that our EYFS team have the biggest responsibility to ensure our new children to St. John’s are ‘hooked on learning for life’ by the experiences you will provide and open up for them and ensure a wonderful springboard to the rest of their time and educational journey through St. John’s.

We wish to appoint a teacher who:

  • has a passion for Early Years education and an excellent understanding of high quality EYFS provision
  • is an excellent classroom practitioner, who will insist on high standards of behaviour and attainment using a nurturing outlook.

  • has the ability to improve the outcomes for all pupils.
  • is able and willing to make a full contribution to the life of the school.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
