The Governing Body of Penn Hall School  seek to appoint a talented, dedicated and inspirational Deputy Headteacher.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a key role in a school for children and young people aged 3 -19 years with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.  

The Deputy Headteacher will support  the Headteacher in shaping the future of the school to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will work to promote a culture of child centred learning, where young people experience a positive and enriching school life which prepares them for adulthood.

The school has a strong and shared commitment to achieve excellence and improve life outcomes for all pupils.

Penn Hall has:

  • 112 children and young people aged 3 – 19 years whose special needs include physical disability, profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties and autism spectrum conditions.
  • Positive engagement with parents and community partners
  • A committed and skilled staff team who place children and young people at the heart of their work.
  • Specialist facilities located on a unique site with extensive outdoor spaces and a beautiful Grade II listed building.
  • A well established outreach provision that works in partnership with schools throughout the City

Penn Hall School needs a Deputy Headteacher who will:

  • Offer commitment and creativity so that each child and young person will achieve their personal best.
  • Work with the Headteacher to develop and deliver a strategic vision that ensures progress and success for all children and young people.
  • Be compassionate and responsive to the needs of our learners and their families.
  • Develop, motivate and support a professional, experienced and caring staff team.
  • Foster partnership working with other schools and external agencies.
  • Lead responses to current and ongoing initiatives within special education.

The successful candidate will be an excellent and innovative practitioner who is able to demonstrate a strong track record as an effective strategic leader and will be committed to ensuring that all young people achieve their full potential.
