Codsall Multi-Academy Trust is entering into an exciting stage of change, maturing as a Trust and embarking on a new period of growth. We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative Chief Finance and Operations Director to work as a member of the Trust Executive Group to lead us through the next phase of our development.

The post holder will lead and develop the Trust’s finance function and work closely with the Board and Head teachers to ensure high quality budgeting, financial management and reporting. As well as leading on ESFA reporting, third party returns and audit activity, the post-holder will utilise benchmarking, analysis and their own extensive experience to improve the financial stability and sustainability of the Trust and its partner schools.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the school estates remain safe and fit for purpose and are maintained in accordance with DfE Good Estate Management for Schools.

As we look to expand the Trust, the CFO will lead on financial diligence and support the Board in ensuring that processes are aligned and robust enough to stand up to external scrutiny. You’ll lead the existing centralised ‘Hub’ function and help re-shape the central team to provide a professional and efficient core service.

We place children at the centre of all that we do, and we take a collaborative partnership approach to the management of our Trust. We are looking for a suitably qualified professional with a strong track record of financial leadership in the academy sector, who is motivated to improve outcomes for pupils through operational excellence. As well as first rate financial skills, you will have a collaborative and coaching leadership style and exceptional communication skills.

This School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form.

Based within our Hub at Codsall, Wolverhampton you’ll work closely with the CEO to deliver our growth and alignment agenda, supported by the Board and the wider schools.
