Warwick District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Accounts Assistant to join the Accountancy Team, providing high level support to Cost Centre Managers throughout the District. The post will be 37 hour per week and the postholder will work in an agile way, working mainly from home.
Working within the Accountancy Division of the Finance Department, the Assistant Accountant will support the Principal Accountant for the Housing and Property Service Area. The work would be varied covering main duties such as Budget setting, monitoring thereof and Final Accounts, as well as recurring finance tasks specific to Housing and Property Services such as Housing Rents reconciliations. There would be other ad-hoc accounting requirements as and when they arise including Capital budget monitoring, Government returns and monitoring various Grant Funded Schemes.
The role would suit someone with some Public Sector Financial knowledge, be AAT qualified and have experience of using Modern Finance Management Systems and Spreadsheets.
The Post holder would need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work accurately to deadlines, work well in a team, building good working relationships with team members and service managers, with good communication and ICT skills.
The intention is for this jobholder to work from home. However, office working, and hybrid working is also available.
