This is a role that favours change and innovation and would be well suited to a proactive candidate that has the drive to get things done. The WMCA received just over £1 billion worth of funding through the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement, to transform our roads, bus, rail, tram, cycling and walking infrastructure right across the West Midlands.

The dynamic nature of this role means you’ll be involved from the initial stages of our programmes/projects, bringing to life our Single Assurance Framework. You’ll be responsible for the smooth running of the Centre of Excellence while also collaborating with senior stakeholders across a multitude of directorates.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with WMCA Directorates and stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes and goals
  • Lead the work to identify and document the programme stakeholders, their interests and the potential impact on the programme
  • Provide a focal point to promote the use and benefits of the WMCA Single Assurance Framework (SAF)
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring effective timing and interdependency management of communications
  • Provide advice and assistance to the Programme Assurance and Appraisal team and Stakeholders
  • Provide a fast-track programme/project support service through collaborative working facilitated workshops and tailoring of standard approaches and templates
  • Develop processes to fulfil the internal reporting needs of the Programme Assurance and Appraisal team and ensuring that reporting deadlines are achieved.
  • Develop and manage document control procedures to cover baseline management, controlled issue of master documents, version control, document history and distribution lists

About you

  • A degree/relevant qualification or experience within a PMO setting, project delivery or change environment
  • Experienced in the development of standards and implementation of best practice (e.g. process documents, flow diagrams and document management)
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
