Are you an Administrator with an interest or experience in Procurement? Looking to be part of a team that supports the organisation deliver its objectives for the West Midlands?

Procurement plays a key role in the delivery of a wide variety projects in areas such as Midland Metro, Rail, Sprint, Communications and Professional Services – to name a few.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Lead Officer, you’ll provide administrative support to the procurement team, assisting with tender activity and managing electronic systems – Bravo/Agresso/SharePoint/CRM

You’ll be the first point of contact for queries from both internal and external customers, provide support with all end-to end procurement processes, maintain and build databases for supplier records and assist the team in delivering training.

You’ll be part of a team of Procurement professionals raising the profile of procurement by increasing cross-functional teamwork, ensuring a high level of service is provided across the organisation.

What will you be doing?

  • Communicate with staff, vendors, requisitioning departments, and the general public to establish and maintain effective working relationships and build awareness of the function of the Procurement Team and procurement best practice policies
  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams assigned to develop or evaluate bid proposals
  • Ensure compliance with the WMCA constitution
  • Support on low value (Under OJEU threshold) tenders and requests for quotation exercises
  • Prepare contractual agreements and assists in writing specifications for works, good and services
  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness
  • Respond to enquiries and questions from WMCA employees regarding a variety of purchasing-related topics

About you

You’ll be an experienced administrator who has supported a large team in a complex environment. 

Being able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work as part of a wider team is essential.  You’ll have good attention to detail and be able to use Microsoft Office and electronic systems to an intermediate level.

We’re looking for an organised and pro-active individual who knows how to get things done and works as part of a wider team.
