Sandwell Council has been afforded the opportunity to undertake a heritage regeneration scheme within Wednesbury, one of Sandwell’s six towns.

The Wednesbury High Street Heritage Action Zone Scheme has been established in partnership with Historic England to regenerate, restore and enhance local historic character to Wednesbury, making it an attractive, engaging and vibrant place for people to live, work and visit.

Wednesbury town centre has a rich streetscape comprising of many fine buildings, with much of the area a designated conservation area. The project consists of a programme to promote and conserve key aspects of Wednesbury’s heritage and deliver heritage-led regeneration. 

We are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager who will lead, coordinate and administer the development and delivery of the Wednesbury Heritage Action Zone Scheme programme over a period of 2 years until its completion in March 2024.The successful applicant will lead a multidiscipline project team, skilled in the technical aspects required for project delivery.  

We require someone who is passionate about Regeneration, a strong leader with the ability to motivate a team and stakeholders within the community.

You must be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and be able to demonstrate relevant project management experience. 

You will be required to work in a partnership project environment, obtaining the co-operation and buy-in of a wide range of people and local community organisations is critical to this role.

It is important for you to have knowledge and an understanding of current regeneration opportunities and challenges, set within a conservation area.

Qualifications

A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline for example - Architecture, Planning, Conservation, Regeneration, Project Management, Business Management, Social Policy etc

Hours

37 hours per week
