We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner who is an enthusiastic, innovative and engaging teacher of Art and Design Technology to join a dynamic and experienced faculty. Both experienced practitioners and new qualified teachers (ECT) are welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a blend of Level 2 and 3 Art and Design, GCSE Design and Technology (Textiles specialist) and KS3 Textiles. You will be joining a team which is built on mutual support with a Head of Department, two experienced co teachers, two full time technicians and a dedicated Design and Technology Teaching Assistant. As well as your own specialist classroom, the Technology department also has a dedicated computer suite with laser cutting, laser engraving and 3D printing CAM facilities.

The Academy was graded as good in all categories and for overall effectiveness in the most recent inspection in October 2021. • have a relevant degree or related subject and hold a UK teaching qualification with QTS or equivalent

• be positive, enthusiastic and resilient

• have highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent ICT skills and practical and technical abilities with experience in Textiles and preferably in Art and Design
• be ambitious for further career development and enhancement
• have the ability to teach a second subject, usually at Key Stage 3 or contribute to the delivery of our PDP programme at KS4
• have a clear understanding of the importance of Safeguarding and equal opportunities
