START DATE:  5 September 2022 – 31 August 2024

CONTRACT:  Fixed term to complete a two-year, Level 3 Apprenticeship Programme (Teaching Assistant)

HOURS:           37 hours per week - 08:00 – 16:00, Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 15:30 on Fridays

Working 39.2 weeks per year.

PAY:                National Apprenticeship Salary 

 

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £4.81 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year of their apprenticeship.  Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over AFTER completing their first year. The minimum wage rates are £6.83 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £9.18 for 21 – 22 year olds and £9.50 for anyone aged 23 and over.  Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that is part of their apprenticeship.


Chase Terrace Academy, a partner school in John Taylor Multi-Academy Trust, is looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice following review of our SEN department and educational healthcare plans (in particular for our Year 7 cohort) from September 2022.

The opportunity to available for anyone predicted or who has achieved a Level 5 in English and Maths. As part of the shortlisting process for interview, applicants that are predicted a Level 5 in these subject areas will need to pass an ‘initial assessment’ as part of selection and recruitment process. Please see the person specification. 

 

We are excited to offer this opportunity which will support the successful candidate to achieve a ‘Teaching Assistant – Apprenticeship Level 3’ qualification. Please see the separate Apprentice course specification for further details of the programme.
