St Thomas Aquinas is a large and thriving 11-18 Catholic comprehensive school where staff and students from all faiths live out the school mission and every member of the community feels valued and engaged. In November 2018 the school was judged as GOOD by Ofsted.
The school requires an enthusiastic, experienced, and hardworking Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Learning Support Team from September 2022. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who will support the teaching and learning of students with a wide range of special educational needs. This post is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional to contribute to the school's continuing success.
It is an exciting time to join St Thomas Aquinas School, as we became part of the Lumen Christi Multi Academy on the 1 April 2015. This links us with seven of our Catholic Primary Feeder Schools and brings real opportunities for collaborate teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will work with individual or small groups of students to promote their inclusion and to provide support for teaching and personalised learning. They may also be placed within a classroom environment to support students. It is essential that the person appointed understands the barriers to learning and is able to help students to
overcome them. The successful candidate will liaise with a wide range of staff and will monitor students closely to ensure they make good progress.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to work in a curriculum area with highly committed staff in a large and popular Catholic secondary school.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role
