Working in our Development Management team, you will play a vital part in shaping life in Tamworth whilst upholding planning regulations.

You will make a difference within the community and get to see first-hand the impact of decisions made within the role.

As Planning Enforcement Officer for the Development Management Service, you will carry out the full duties of the post in accordance with the legislative requirements and the Council’s statutory duties, policies and priorities, as directed.

We’re looking for someone who’s motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised, with excellent written, numeracy and verbal communication skills. You will be educated to degree level or willing to commence study to achieve an RTPI recognised qualification be able to analyse and interpret data, prepare reports and briefings, take part and lead on topic groups and manage projects.

Relevant experience in development management at local authority level would be an advantage in this role.

This is a home working contract and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work in the UK check, medical clearance and DBS check.
