The Board will set out a bold and ambitious plan for the town centre’s future as it adapts to its changing role; programmes will cut across tech and innovation, transport, green spaces, capital programmes and creative developments. There are already several exciting projects underway which are transforming the town centre, including the Creative Quarter regeneration project in the Old Town, the redevelopment of Leamington Spa’s rail station forecourt and underpass, and new town centre wide wayfinding signage both of which will create improvements for visitors to the town during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and beyond.
The Role
As Chair you will ensure that the Board meets the highest standards of output and excellence in governance and scrutiny. You will be committed to delivering our vision and care about the development and transformation of the town. You will be an experienced leader, have a regional or national reputation, be politically astute and an instigator of change. You will be skilled at negotiating difficult conversations and unifying the Board to ensure we meet the aspirations we set out to deliver. This is a unique opportunity to work with key stakeholders and partners who are all driven and committed to transforming Royal Leamington Spa town centre and unlocking its potential for the future.
If you share our excitement for Royal Leamington Spa’s future and passion for community regeneration, and offer the skills, experience and approach we are seeking to lead the Town’s transformation we welcome your interest and application.
