Job Details

The Children’s Activity Scheme are looking for committed and motivated workers to join their team of experienced play and sports coaches. You will have knowledge of sports activities and the wider benefits of play/sports – as well as an understanding of the different types of play. You will have experience of working with children and young people, have some coaching experience and, preferably, be qualified to NGB Level 2 or equivalent. 

The Children’s Activity scheme aims to increase play opportunities in the borough by providing quality, supervised play for children, young people and families in both structured and unstructured settings. These are delivered at a number of parks locations across the borough. In addition to this, we look to provide a mixture of arts & crafts, multi-sports and mentoring opportunities in schools and youth club environments. 
 
The post holder will be required to work both within schools during term time and in the community. The post holder will focus on the delivery of multi-sport sessions during school lunchtimes, evening Youth Club sessions in community facilities, predominantly during term time – but with community sessions carrying on during some holiday periods.

There is further opportunity throughout the school holidays for Children Activity Leaders to work on special events and to delivery community play sessions, which will take place in Parks and Community Centres across the borough. Your own transport, with the ability to carry equipment is essential. This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure under the Disclosure and Barring Service.
