Pastoral Support Officer

Grade 5 SCP 6-9 (FTE £20,043 - £21,269 – Actual Salary £13,979 - £14,834)

30 hours per week - 8.30 am - 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday

Term Time + 5 inset days

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Pastoral support Officer to join our team. The role plays a pivotal part in helping to support our children to reach their full potential and contributing to the ongoing success of our Federation.

Chadsmoor Federation consists of two schools, Chadsmoor Community Infant and Nursery and Chadsmoor CE Junior School. Our vision is:

The successful candidate will be:

 

  • experienced in working with young people either in education and/or social care be confident in managing challenging behaviours and have the ability to remain calm have the ability to engage with children and families, building a rapport and trust have the ability to implement and monitor behaviour management strategies possess excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to prioritise time and tasks in order to meet deadlines and provide a friendly and efficient service have a high level of communication and emotional intelligence skills committed to realising the potential of all young people

The successful candidate will work closely with staff, parents, children and external agencies to help intervene with difficulties associated with school life, including attendance and behaviour. We are looking for an individual who can prioritise their workload and resolve issues that arise independently. 

 

This post will be based at our Junior school but will work closely with our Pastoral support officer based at the Infant school.

 

The role will include:

  • providing pastoral and nurture intervention for vulnerable pupils
  • working with and supporting families
  • a strong commitment to raising standards, giving children the best possible start in life
  • working with outside agencies to support children and families
