Apprentice Teaching Assistant Level 3

Location:                         Mary Elliot School, Leamore Lane, Walsall, WS2 7LU

Accountable to:              Assistant Headteachers

Contract:                         Apprenticeship period - 24 months 

32.5 hours a week, term time only

Salary:  The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice from April 2022 is £4.81 an hour. Apprentices will be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over AFTER completing their first year.  Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that is part of their apprenticeship.

Qualifications required:   GCSE English and Mathematics Grade A-C or equivalent is preferred but not essential if you do not have the relevant grades you will be required to undertake Level 2 Functional Skills. A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is also desirable.

We are looking to appoint a kind, caring, flexible and hardworking person to join our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants to support our pupils.

Mary Elliot School is a specialist setting in Walsall providing education to young people at Key Stages 3 and 4, and 16-19 provision, all of whom have a variety of SEND complexities. The post holder will be joining our vibrant team as we move forward with mission to provide excellence in nurturing, developing and shaping young lives.

Mary Elliot is part a collaborative, supportive and progressive federation. This is an exciting time, and offers an opportunity to provide the empathy, support and nurture that will directly impact the future of the lives of the most significantly challenged young people in the area.
