18 Months Fixed Term Contract
37 hours per week
Point 1 - £9,286.22 a year – initial salary for all new starters for the first 12 months of the apprenticeship
Progression of pay after 12 months are complete as follows:
Point 2 - £13,186.05 a year - completed 12 months and aged 19 - 20
Point 3 - £17,722.97 a year - completed 12 months and aged 21 - 22
Point 4 - £18,340.77 a year – completed 12 months and aged 23+
Bereavement services are offering the opportunity of a business administrative apprentice, working in a small team based in the tranquil location of Oakley Wood Crematorium.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate and caring, having good communication skills and an excellent eye for detail.
The main responsibilities will be assisting with the day-to-day administration of burial and cremation paperwork, discussing arrangements with funeral directors and bereaved families, and front of house meeting the funeral cortege.
The post offers the opportunity to study a level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration; no experience is necessary as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Candidates need to have
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- minimum of 4 GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
- IT literate including use of the main Microsoft office software
- committed to customer care
- good communication skills
- tact, diplomacy, and empathy
This is a front line post, based in the office of Oakley Wood Crematorium, Bishops Tachbrook, Leamington Spa, CV33 9QP.
This position can be up to 18 months, working normal business hours which are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, from time to time you may be asked to work on a Saturday and take an alternative day off in the week.
Bereavement Services Department is a small team of approx 10 people, the team are based at Oakley Wood Crematorium, a 21 acre woodland site with a small office building, ceremonial chapels and cremation area and a natural woodland burial area; there are 4 cemeteries located in Leamington Spa, Old Milverton, Warwick and Kenilworth.
Candidates will need to have a means of transportation as this rural location is not directly served by any bus routes.
