About us:

The Advanced Social Worker Role is a supervisory role which includes the management of staff and dealing with complaints and complex cases.

In Worcestershire, we use the Three Conversation approach, a strength-based model that focuses on people's strengths, own assets and those in communities. 

Malvern Hills Area Social Work Team support’s people who are over 18 with a wide range of support needs (excluding Learning Disabilities and Adult Mental Health). We work closely with GPs and other community health colleagues to develop models of integrated working, called Neighbourhood Teams. We have a range of office bases in Malvern and Upton-Upon-Severn.

About you:

Your role is to support this practice both in formal and informal supervision, and to support the co-ordination and facilitation of weekly reflective practice for the team.  You will also underpin the operational duties of the team by providing expert knowledge of the adult social care system and issues that can arise from complex care management. Supervising qualified Social workers and Social Care Workers, you will have a key role in supporting and overseeing the allocation of work within the team and will pick up a level of case management and duty issues when needed.

You will be required to take responsibility for working with a wide range of other professionals and will have the opportunity to contribute to developing services for people with Learning Disabilities, through links with commissioning and other strategic partners. You will maintain close links with health colleagues, including regular joint team meetings, to provide a holistic Multi -Disciplinary Team Approach to case management.

To be successful in the post you will have significant post-qualifying experience, and clear identifiable career progression.  You will have ideally completed your practice education (PE) award and have previous experience of supervising/supporting social work practitioners and students.
