Victoria College is part of a soft federation with Cherry Oak School and Victoria School.
We are looking to appoint a teacher who can demonstrate they can deliver good to outstanding lessons and who is passionate about quality SEN education.
We are a vibrant, specialist college for young people aged 19 to 25 years with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and Complex Health Care needs. We provide a bespoke curriculum preparing students for adulthood. The holistic approach ensures that learning is cross curricular to develop the skills required. We offer a 38-week, term-time provision which attracts students from across the City of Birmingham and the neighbouring authorities. The College day operates from 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. We recognise that all of our students have individualised learning needs, abilities and aspirations. We deliver flexible, personalised learning to enable and empower our students to fulfil their own unique potential. You will have the highest expectations for all young people to achieve well, with an excellent understanding of the challenges they face. Your planning will effectively support the individual needs of the young people you teach. You will be able to make good use of a range of technology to support both learning and communication. Special education experience would be an advantage however, for the right candidate, as long as you are motivated, enthusiastic and ready for a challenge, Victoria College would be the place for you!
Ideally this position is to commence with us as soon as possible, but we appreciate this may need to be January 2023. There is an option to start in November 2022* or ASAP if the right candidate is available?
