We maintain these areas including ongoing fantastic new developments from the Future High Street Fund, as part of Worcester City’s successful and dynamic front line services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Worcester City Council’s Environmental Operations Team. We are looking for an experienced Operative with excellent knowledge of construction and street works maintenance. You will be part of a 4-person team delivering small civil engineering projects and street maintenance within the City of Worcester. 

We are looking for someone with the relevant experience to join our team on a 2-year fixed term contract (To be reviewed for extension or permanency). As part of our Minor Works team, the post holder will be responsible assisting the rest of the team in delivery of projects.

The successful applicant will be part of the Minor Works team on a daily basis with guidance from the Co-Ordinator and supervisor. 

The post holder will have good working knowledge of Health and Safety. They will be able to work under pressure and with a good level of literacy, numeracy, IT skills and Street Works qualification would be an advantage training will be provided if required. Successful candidates must be willing to undertake any necessary training to fully complete the role.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of construction, street works and CDM. Worcester City Council places a high priority on Health and Safety legislation; candidates should also be able to provide evidence of continued development in this area.

Applicants must be physically fit to complete all duties.

A full UK driving licence is required

The hours of work are 37 per week, to suit the needs of the service. However, this roll will be required occasionally to support local events which involves unsociable hours
