Description

Directorate: Children & Family Services

Section: School Services - Facilities Management Schools

Grade: Level 7

Hours: 37

Close Date: 3rd July 2022

Please note this post is open to internal and external candidates.

Working within facilities management for schools, the Stoke-on-Trent City Council section that provides catering, cleaning and road crossing services, this post provides the opportunity to join a professional technical team in an interesting and engaging role.

You will be expected to be comfortable talking to a wide cross section of people, both internal and external to the City Council, whilst running meetings with suppliers involving contract process and price negotiation to ensure delivery of our school service level agreements.

Working with the technical and operations teams, you will need the ability to communicate at all levels while creating and distributing research and reports that detail contractor performance, new product specifications and bid/tender procurement processes.

The post holder will need a keen eye for detail and a good knowledge of IT (including MS Office), whilst being able to adapt and use new software platforms and systems, as the digital footprint of these services is constantly expanding. Possession of knowledge surrounding catering, the food industry and procurement process would be an advantage, but is not essential.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all our employees and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
