Academic Mentor
Salary: £19,000-£21,000 dependant on qualifications
Location: Castlefort JMI School
Start date: 1st September 2022
Hours: 37 hours per week; fixed-term contract (12 months)
Purpose of the job:
To work under the instruction and guidance of the Headteacher/SENDCo to provide one-to-one and small group, subject-specific tuition, offering support to pupils from Years 1 to 6. Many of the pupils will be from disadvantaged backgrounds and the aim is to help them to catch up on missed education due to Covid-19.
Your role will be to help pupils to reach their learning goals, maximise their potential, develop their skills and build their confidence.
Essentially, you will:
- Have A-levels (at least 3)
- Experience of working in a school or experience of tutoring
- Have excellent, personal literacy/numeracy skills (GCSE English and mathematics or equivalent)
Ideally, you will:
- Have a degree or qualified teacher status
