Intervention Lead Teacher

Part Time 3 days per week

Teachers Main Scale, depending on experience

We are looking for an permanent Intervention Lead Teacher for three days per week (0.6) to coordinate, plan and implement 1:1 tutoring and small group tuition in Maths and Literacy across the school.

The successful candidate should be, or aspire to be, an outstanding teacher. NQT’s are not able to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Work with the Deputy Head teacher to identify children who would benefit from tuition/tutoring. To ensure this is kept under regular review and in line with the school’s assessment overview.
  • Create timetables for tuition and tutoring for self and supporting TA’s, keeping these under regular review.
  • Research evidence-based interventions and use knowledge to inform tuition/tutoring interventions.
  • Use assessment outcomes and evidence-based research, to plan high quality tuition/tutoring for identified children in Maths and Literacy (for self and supporting Teaching Assistants)
  • Ensure that intervention planning includes SMART targets, success criteria, engaging activities and opportunities for assessment/review.
  • Prepare and disseminate resources for interventions.
  • Deliver tuition/tutoring interventions.
  • Regularly meet with supporting Teaching Assistants to review children’s progress and attainment, using outcomes to inform further tuition/tutoring, class teachers and the Deputy Headteacher.
  • Feedback outcomes to class teachers and provide information which supports them in completing the Literacy and Maths termly tracking charts
  • Analyse children’s progress towards targets and create a half termly report for the Deputy Headteacher
  • Produce regular progress report for parents and keep them updated on their child’s targets and progress towards these.
  • Work in conjunction with class teachers to ensure that targets are being embeded in class work.
  • Take part in professional development for the area, sharing information with other colleagues.
  • Collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionals within and beyond the school
  • Ensure that the detailed records are maintained and kept up to date, in line with the expectations set by the school.
