Hours: 35 hours per week, Term time only (39 weeks; 38 weeks + 5 Inset Days)

 

Salary:  Grade 5, Point 6-9, £20,043 - £21,269 per annum (pro rata annual salary £16,094.20 – £17,078.66)

Start Date: September 2022

Contract Type: Permanent

Veritas Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, innovative and passionate KS1 Classroom Teaching Assistant to join our team on our remarkable journey in contributing to the achievement of our vision to ensuring all children reach their full potential.

 

Veritas Primary Academy is a bright and vibrant two form entry school for children aged 3 to 11 years old that opened its doors in September 2015. We are a very friendly school where we aim to provide exceptional learning opportunities for all children.  We set high expectations for our children both behaviorally and academically and offer a wide range of creative, inspirational lessons through all areas of the curriculum. Our children are encouraged to become confident, caring and articulate and to use their abilities to the full.

 

We are part of the REAch2 Academy Trust family and foster close links with other schools throughout the Trust aiming to share resources, facilities and expertise to ensure the best teaching and learning possible.

 

The successful candidate will need to hold a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent qualification and have experience of working in Key Stage 1. Candidates should also;

 

  • Have a flexible approach to working. Work well within a team. Display initiative and ability to work independently. Be enthusiastic and dynamic. Be reliable with a sense of commitment. Be an excellent practitioner. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils, including delivering specific parts of the curriculum to groups of pupils if required, and assessing pupils’ progress and reporting it to the Class Teacher. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress, including attending relevant meetings such as statutory reviews. Provide support for individual pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
  • Demonstrate excellent Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills. Effectively communicate and liaise directly with parents . Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records, including observations and assessments. Support pupils with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills. Support the class when going to specialist lessons during teachers’ PPA time including PE and music. Prepare and present displays of pupils' work. Support class teachers in photocopying, laminating, preparing resources and other tasks in order to support teaching. Cover Class Teacher release time as and when required. Undertake other duties from time to time as instructed by the Class Teacher or Phase Lead.
