We are looking for a skilled and energetic individual to work as a member of the school facilities team. The role is varied and requires flexibility. The role is dual function, operating as part of the facilities team, but also support the Design and Technology department. You and a facilities colleague between you will support the preparation of materials for DT lessons, and then support the teacher during the lesson. Helping to ensure students are working safely and helping them as conduct their practical work. You are not in the room as a teacher, but to help facilitate the process - you do need to be comfortable working with young people in a school environment.
We are looking for someone with experience of maintenance, whether this is as a keen home DiY'er, or having worked in a maintenance capacity in the past, ideally you will also have an interest in woodwork. We are also looking for someone with a driving license, as driving the schools transport is also part of the role.
Whilst having qualifications would be of help to the role, we are primarily looking for people with experience.
Training on Health and Safety, Design and Technology machines etc. will be provided.
At the foundation of everything we do is a belief that children must behave well in school and that systems and culture must support this. Excellent behaviour enables excellent teaching but perhaps even more importantly it allows children to be happy and feel safe in school, and to develop into positive, engaged, global citizens. Staff and students alike are constantly striving to “become the best versions of ourselves”.
The successful candidate will:
-
Will have a talent and passion for Design and Technology
Have experience of working with Design and Technology materials and machines
Enjoys working with young people and nurturing their talent and interests
Have site experience or good all round ability in general maintenance
-
A forward thinking school that invests in its staff and provides opportunity to train and develop
State of the art facilities
An experienced and supportive team
