We are looking to recruit two highly motivated Business Support Officer’s (BSO) based at Taxi Licensing, Waterfall Lane, Cradley Heath and General Licensing Team, Oldbury Council House.

The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual, experienced in working within an office environment to join a busy team providing business support to the Taxi Licensing and General Licensing team, also you will need to have OCR Level 2 or equivalent in Word Processing and/or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent competency together with GCSE English and Maths or an equivalent qualification.

It is also essential you have at least 12 months experience of working in a business support/administrative environment.

The role of business support within the team is to offer general support in tasks such as; completing letters, answering and directing phones calls, booking meetings.  You will have experience of dealing with the public, both in a front-line face to face capacity and through taking telephone calls.  You should be able to interact positively and communicate effectively at all levels; be self-motivated, taking a proactive approach to your work.

You will be working as part of a team supporting the busy front-line Licensing Services.  Therefore, you should have the ability to both organise and prioritise your work ensuring you are able to meet deadlines. The ability to take minutes of meetings, work on your own initiative and contribute to effective team working is required.

The successful applicants will require to use a range of software packages including Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook. A polite, efficient manner particularly when working under pressure where interruption may be common place is essential.

Please note there are 2 full-time positions available as follows:

A post based at Waterfall Lane in Cradley Heath supporting the Taxi Licensing team with the working times being Mon - Thu 7.45 – 4.15 and Fri 7.45 – 3.30

A post based at Oldbury Council House supporting the General Licensing team and the working times are Mon- Thu – 9 – 5.30 and Fri 9 – 5
