1:1 Teaching Assistant Vacancy

Hours: 25 hours, term-time only

Contract: Support for named child with EHCP so the contract will end when the child leaves, or no longer has the need through an EHCP.

Pay scale: Teaching Assistant TA2: point 5-6 £11,355.84 to £11,814.70.

St Andrew’s CE School is looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

You will be committed to developing effective working relationships with the child, parents and staff, while contributing to the individual pupil’s development, working with the Class Teacher and the SEND team to support the pupil across a wide range of activities. With a creative and flexible approach to working with individual children, you will be passionate about every child’s learning and progress and promote excellent behaviour and high standards.

What we are looking for We require the successful candidate to:

• Be able to develop positive reciprocal relationships with young children
• Be able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child you are supporting
• Be able to stay calm and objective
• Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team as well as working independently when appropriate
• Be a confident and clear communicator with parents
• Be flexible with regard to other classroom work
