We have an exciting opportunity to join the Licensing Team in Safer Communities (Regulation and Enforcement) as a Licensing Technical Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave.

This is an exciting time for us with the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and the development of a new ICT case management system and emergence of new regulatory legislation and policy.

The role involves assisting and supporting the delivery of the licensing service to visitors and businesses by providing advice and guidance, serving customers, supporting with visits, processing applications and gathering information following a regulatory framework.  We will also offer you training and support to fulfil the role requirements, as well as an option of hybrid working where possible once training is complete.

You will have 4 GCSEs grades A-C / 4-9 (including Maths and English) or equivalent qualifications or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of numeracy and literacy skills.  You will have good verbal and written communication skills together with a good working knowledge of ICT.

You will be able to respond appropriately to customers with different needs and understand the importance of legislation to underpin the work.  This is a busy team so you will need to have the ability to balance competing demands and prioritise tasks, working to deadlines
