Reception & Administration Assistant – Lane Green First School

10 Hours a Week, Preferably mornings

Grade 3, Spinal Point 3 (Term Time Only).

Starting at £4,385 Pending Pay Review.

Lane Green First School would like to appoint a Receptionist & Administration Assistant ASAP

Lane Green First School are seeking to appoint a Reception Assistant to join our caring and achieving school team.  The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, capable of undertaking a wide range of duties associated with a school office.  As a ‘face’ of the school you will need excellent communication skills and be welcoming and friendly to all.

Statement of Purpose

To support the management of Administration/data for the school and provide an effective and efficient reception service to the school.

Support to the Organisation

• Provide routine clerical/administrative support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, emailing,

completing routine forms, responding to routine correspondence.

• Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems.

• Produce lists/information/data as required, e.g. pupil data.

• Undertake more complex typing, word-processing and other IT based tasks e.g. assisting in the preparation of minutes, reports and circulars.

• Take notes at meetings.

• Sort and distribute mail.

• Undertake routine administrative procedures e.g. transport arrangements, catering arrangements, interview arrangements.

• Maintain and collate pupil reports.

• Undertake routine administration of school lettings and other uses of school premises.

• Operate relevant equipment/computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, databases, spreadsheets, Internet).

• Maintain stock and supplies, cataloguing and distributing as required.

• Operate uniform/snack/other “shops” within the school.

• Provide general advice and guidance to staff, pupils and others.

• Undertake routine financial administration e.g. processing orders, receipt, recording and banking

of monies due to the school.

• Basic first aid.

 

Support to Reception

•To provide an efficient reception service to all visitors to the school and members of the school.

•To ensure that all visitors to the school are signed in and out and provided with the correct visitor badge as required.

•Answer all telephone enquiries promptly and take messages as necessary to pass on to the appropriate person.

•Use the SIMS computer system to locate students as required.
