We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for public library resources and services. A rare vacancy has arisen within our Libraries team for a Library Specialist (Stock and Resources) to help shape and develop our library offer for the future.

Reporting to the Libraries Development Manager, The Library Specialist (Stock and Resources) is part of a team of Library Specialists responsible for developing, maintaining, implementing and reviewing a range of resources for library users, both on site and virtually.

In addition to a series of shared and generic responsibilities, each Specialist has an area of personal accountability, which for this post is ensuring that our stock reflects local diversity in a fast-paced environment and impacts positively on the issuing of books and other resources.
To be considered for this role you will have:

• A Degree or post graduate diploma or equivalent qualification in library and information science or a related subject
• A passion for the library resource and the service we offer
• Experience of working in a highly pressured customer/library service environment
• Knowledge of library services and ability to keep abreast of national initiatives to ensure the service fully participates in key programmes
• Experience of collecting, analysing and interpreting data
