Job Title: Trainee Archivist
Salary: £22,571 - £24,920 per annum
Location: The Hive, Worcester
Temporary 9 Months
We have a job opportunity for a Graduate Trainee to join our archive team at Worcestershire Archives and Archaeology Service based at the unique Hive in Worcester.
This vacancy is open to graduates (and those expecting to graduate in 2021) who intend to pursue a post-graduate course in archives administration or records management and seeking suitable paid experience.
You will be working in the public searchroom, cataloguing historic documents, assisting with Conservation and Outreach work. The post is for 9 months and is based on-site. You must be able to work effectively in a team, work independently, demonstrate a good sense of initiative and possess attention to detail. You will also have excellent communication skills and customer service experience. This is a traineeship and as such you will receive training in a range of aspects of the role. It is expected that applicants will have some but not a significant amount of archival experience.
A commitment to follow the traineeship with a professional archival qualification is expected.
Please note the working pattern will be Monday to Friday however some Saturdays and occasional evening work will be required.
