Grade 7 – £23,953 to £27,514 (£18,183 to £20,885 pro rata)

Post commencing as soon as possible.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who wishes to make a critical difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people in our district. This is a new post in our structure and we are looking for somebody to further develop and support the pastoral and mental health care of our secondary students. Therefore, the purpose of the role is playing a pivotal role in our secondary safeguarding culture, school wellbeing and student personal development ensuring that all our students are provided the care, nurture and support conducive to their learning. The role has a strong mentoring emphasis and will require the ability to work with individual and small groups of students, as well as to liaise with external agencies, parents and carers.

The Bridge Centre caters for students from Key Stage 1 to 4 who have been permanently excluded from school, suffer with medical conditions including anxiety and it also offers short programmes for students who are presenting challenging behaviour in their mainstream settings.

We would welcome applications from candidates with mainstream or special experience as we are seeking somebody who has the character, initiative and flexibility to meet the needs of our young people. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working to support the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people.

Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher for pastoral support and wellbeing, the post will provide strong support from a committed team of experienced professionals.   The opportunities for further training to support the role will be extensive.

We are therefore looking for someone who:

  • A dedicated professional who is willing to share their experience with others, learn from other experienced colleagues and engage in further training.
  • has a proven record of working in a team within a school setting.
  • has a commitment to high standards and is always willing to go the extra mile for the young people they work with.
  • has excellent communication skills, resilience and a sense of humour
  • has energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to team working and supporting colleagues.
  • an empathetic communicator, who leads by example and builds positive relationships with students, parents/carers, staff and all other stakeholders

Visits would be encouraged, to arrange a visit please contact Lynnette Abell, School Business Manager on 01543 255872 or email office@bridge.staffs.sch.uk

Closing date – Wednesday 7th September, 2022

Interviews – w/c 12th September, 2022
